Terms of Sale
By placing an order with Positive Acorns to Oaks Limited (the Company), T/A Acorns to Oaks, either via telephone, in writing or online, the customer confirms they have read and accepted the Terms of Sale as set out in this document.
The Contract
On placing and paying for an order, the customer will receive an order confirmation sent to the email address provided when placing their order. The Company will dispatch the order within the timeframe detailed in Delivery Information and confirmation of dispatch will be sent to the email address provided. The contract is fulfilled with the order is dispatched and proof of postage retained by the Company.
Safety
Any toys provided comply with EC Toy Safety Regulations and, where appropriate, carry the CE mark.
Items are not suitable for Under 3s unless otherwise specified.
When placing their order, customers should ensure the products are:
- Appropriate for the recipient’s age.
- Going to be used in the way they are intended and with care, for example key rings or stationery are not toys and should not be used as such.
- Not received by someone who could be harmed or suffer an allergic reaction to their purchase.
- Given to the recipient with safety warnings still attached if provided.
- Not used if there is a defect. The Company takes care to check all products are in working order before dispatch, but should a customer find a fault please contact us to arrange a return and, if required, a replacement or refund.
All products must be used and activities carried out under adult supervision at all times.
In addition to this, if a red exclamation mark or red glove is shown on any activity, this may require an adult to carry out this task, or, as a minimum, be extra vigilant whilst the child works on this activity.
It is the child’s adult carer’s responsibility to decide if the child is able to safely carry out the activities included in the subscription box. The Company cannot be held responsible for this decision or be held liable for any accidents or injuries that may happen as a result of this decision.
Please ensure you carefully read any safety cards or instructions provided with each box and contact the Company prior to a child carrying out an activity should you have any questions.
Products and activities
Whilst the contents of the subscription box are described as suitable for Key Stage 1 children (age 5 to 7), the Company does not claim the contents follow the national curriculum. The Company also understands that children learn at different stages, and find various activities interesting at different ages, therefore it is the customer’s responsibility to decide if the boxes are suitable for the intended recipient. Therefore, although the exact contents of future boxes cannot be guaranteed, the customer should familiarise themselves with the photos and descriptions of previous and sample boxes before placing an order. Alternatively, customers should contact acorns-to-oaks@outlook.com before placing their order to discuss their concerns.
The subscription boxes are likely to contain a recipe and a science experiment. These will be guidelines and instructions only and will not include the ingredients or items required to carry out the activity. It is the child’s adult carer’s responsibility to be aware of any allergies or dietary requirements that may make these activities unsuitable for the child and to ensure the child does not take part if there is any risk to their health or safety.
Delivery (digital subscriptions)
There is no physical product for digital subscriptions. Activities will be emailed to subscribers in a PDF document between the 26th and 30th of every month to be printed at home.
Customers will receive their first email within 72 hours of placing an order which will contain that month’s activities. All following emails will be scheduled as above.
Delayed, missing or damaged goods
If an order is not received during the timeframe suggested or is damaged, please contact the Company. Although dispatch of an order and proof of postage confirms we have fulfilled the contract, we will liaise with third parties (for example couriers) should a problem arise once the goods have left our premises and would hope to resolve the matter as soon as possible.
Product replacement
In the unlikely event of a product not being available to meet a customer’s delivery requirements, the customer will be contacted and offered a similar product in its place or an alternative delivery date. The customer is under no obligation to accept this offer and may cancel the order and receive a full refund should they wish.
Returns
Due to the nature of the product, returns are not possible.
Product images & descriptions
All photos are of previous and sample boxes and contents; we do not show photos of future boxes and cannot guarantee the contents. All boxes will be of a similar value with a similar number of items as those in the photos but may not be exact.
Payment
Our payment processor is Stripe. You can read their privacy policy here https://stripe.com/gb/privacy.
Payment will be taken as follows:
- Monthly subscriptions – taken upon order and then on between the on or around the 14th of each month until cancelled. Please log in to your account and cancel by the 13th should you not wish to the receive the following month’s PDF document.
Renewing your subscription
Your subscription will automatically renew as above.
Cancelling your subscription
Please log in to your account or contact acorns-to-oaks@outlook.com if you wish to cancel your subscription. The Company requests that you cancel by the 13th to cancel the following month’s PDF.
Currency & VAT
All our prices are in British Pound Sterling with VAT included at the standard rate if required (currently 20%).
Privacy policy
The Company will not pass on any personal customer information or contact details to third parties. Should you receive a newsletter from us updating you on new products or special offers, there will be an unsubscribe option for you to choose or please feel free to contact us to let us know you no longer wish to receive this information. The Company reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions as deemed appropriate. Customers are advised to ensure they have read the most recent terms when making their purchase.
